Beach and turquoise water in Zanzibar

4 DaysFrom $1,200Spice Farm & Nungwi Beach

4 Days, Zanzibar

Stone Town, the Safari Blue boat tour, spice farms and beach time at Nungwi, in one private, unhurried trip.

Overview

History, Adventure and Beach, Unhurried

This 4-day package brings together the pieces of Zanzibar I'd recommend to anyone visiting for the first time: a Stone Town city tour, a full day on the water with Safari Blue, and a spice farm tour with snorkeling. You choose the start date, and it's a private trip, just your group in the vehicle with driver and guide, no joining a bus full of strangers.

Four days is enough to see the highlights without rushing through them, mixing culture and adventure activities with real time to relax on the beach.

Itinerary

Day by Day

Day 1

Arrive in Zanzibar

You'll be met and greeted at the airport or harbor by our representative and transferred to Tembo Hotel, or similar, in the heart of Stone Town. It's a good base for exploring the island's history and culture over the days ahead. The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure, a stroll through the nearby streets or simply relaxing at the hotel.

Day 2

Safari Blue Full Day Excursion

Pickup is at 8:30am from your hotel for the short drive to Fumba village, where you'll board the boat for the Safari Blue tour, a full day on the water that includes:

  • Visiting three different sandbanks in the crystal-clear waters of Menai Bay
  • A seafood lunch on one of the sandbanks, grilled fish, lobster, calamari and tropical fruit
  • Snorkeling in pristine coral reefs, with equipment provided
  • Swimming and dolphin watching opportunities
  • Time to relax on white sand beaches surrounded by turquoise water

You'll return to Tembo Hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Spice Farm & Stone Town Tour

After breakfast, pickup at 9:30am for the spice farm tour that explains why Zanzibar is nicknamed the "Spice Island". You'll:

  • See the different spices growing and learn how each is cultivated
  • Taste seasonal tropical fruit fresh from the trees
  • Get a glimpse of everyday village life
  • Enjoy a traditional lunch at the spice farm

In the afternoon, a Stone Town tour covers the historic heart of Zanzibar:

  • The former slave market site and museum
  • The bustling daily market
  • The House of Wonders (Beit-el-Ajaib)
  • The Old Fort and Palace Museum
  • Stone Town's famous narrow streets
  • Time for shopping, local crafts and spices

From there it's a drive up to the north coast, to Nungwi Dream Resort, for an overnight stay on the beach.

Day 4

Departure

After a final breakfast, this is your departure day. Depending on your flight or ferry schedule, you'll have some free time to enjoy the beach or do a bit of last-minute shopping before our driver picks you up and transfers you to the airport or marine port for your onward journey.
